That is why the way we work is guided by Garrison’s Model of Self-Directed Learning, which encourages adults to take ownership over their individual learning process to become self-motivating and self-managing.

The Karani Faculty of Educators are here to help navigate this process through customised, and integrated peer-to-peer and/or one-on-one interventions focused on holistic leadership development, that cares about the individual, their context, and the professional and/or entrepreneurial environment in which they learn and develop.

We look for candidates who are present, attentive, empathic, and active listeners. Faculty members need to take the time to understand each individual’s story and then adapt their own skills, expertise and experiences to respond to these individual and group needs.

Karani Professional Coach

The Karani Professional Coach works closely with middle- to senior-management leaders to help them maximise their personal and professional potential. This one-on-one coaching includes harnessing talents, identifying opportunities, and streamlining goals for effectiveness and sustainable performance.

Karani CliftonStrengths Coach

The Karani CliftonStrengths Coach focuses on an individual's learning journey. This includes discovering one's strengths and calling them by name, claiming them as their own based on evidence of their application throughout their lives, and aiming them towards achieving effective outcomes for the development of themselves and their professional and/or entrepreneurial pursuits.

Karani Business Coach

Karani’s entrepreneurship development is mainly for creative, cultural and social enterprises. The Karani Business Coach focuses on impact-based business development. Our business coaches helps entrepreneurs assess where they are, where they want to go, and what they need to do to get there. A vision and mission help entrepreneurs align with a bigger picture, which then creates room for creative expression in business-building. The crux of Karani Business Coaching is to assist entrepreneurs understand and craft a business model, which can be validated; thus ensuring that the creative, cultural and/or social idea is an income-generating impact vehicle.

Karani Orchestrator

The Orchestrator holds all the moving parts of our programmes together. Their role is to assist entrepreneurs, teams, and leaders unlock their understanding and gain insights from their self-directed learning. The Orchestrator is in the room to  cultivate a safe space for learning and help people navigate and observe change, all while encouraging bravery, vulnerability, and curiosity.

Karani Facilitator

The Karani Facilitator helps participants learn from their own experiences and shared information. They create an environment where everyone is encouraged to participate, understand one another's point of view and share responsibility. In doing so, a group facilitator helps members look for collaborative solutions and build sustainable agreements to progress and development.

Qualifications

Given the different roles and responsibilities within the Karani Faculty of Educators, we spend a lot of time training our faculty members on our approach and methodology to leadership development. There are various in-house training, peer-review, simulated experiences to assist the individual to present as a Karani member in the field. That said, we do take preference for educators who are accredited and qualified as follows:
  • 5+ years of experience as a facilitator and/or coach
  • Entrepreneur with your own boutique business or coaching practice
  • ICF accredited and/or affiliated coaching qualification
  • COMENSA member
  • Advantageous:
    • Gallup Global Strengths Coach
    • Organisation & Relationship Systems Coach
    • Know the principles of Human-Centered Design and Design Thinking
    • ICF Member
